Michael Bay, one of the most divisive directors of the modern era, has been pursuing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film for quite some time now. Faced with delays, and re-writes (remember when they were supposed to be aliens instead of turtles!!!). Well, now we have the first trailer from the non-alien reboot of the series. That said, Bay is not afraid to play with Ninja Turtle canon. In this film, it appears, The Shredder (played by William Fichtner) actually created the Ninja Turtles with the help of April O’Neil (Megan Fox)’s father… yes, you heard that right. The Shredder created the Turtles.
Now the film is actually being directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Bay is only the producer), so here’s hoping the film is a little less chaotic than Bay’s typical style. That said, the plot may divide a lot of the long time fans of the Turtles. Then there is the CGI. Is it just me, or were the Jim Henson, man-in-suit, puppet costumes way more believable than these CG versions of the characters.

Nothing will ever beat the classic 1990 film in my opinion. Here’s hoping Bay’s film has excessive use of the word “Damn!”, like its predecessor:
