Short Film Friday: The Man From Death (Dir.: Stephen Reedy)

TheManFromDeathWhat do you get when you combine the western genre with Scott Pilgrim vs. The World? The answer lies within the embedded video below. Written and directed by Stephen Reedy, The Man from Death is an acid trip of a short that combines hyper-realized martial-arts action, blended with Western imagery, and processed through an 8-bit lens. It is pure creativity on screen. I have watched this short a few times now, and each time I process something different. For example, aside from all of its zany action, there are actual moments of pathos where the film slows down to reflect on the nature of being right before someone gets their head split in two.

I urge you all to watch it:
