Today we have another Oscar nominated animated short: Adam and Dog. Directed by Minkyu Lee, Adam and Dog looks like a painting in motion. This film shows the first great bond between Man and Dog that has lasted throughout the ages. The film is very meditative. Both the Dog and Adam show great emotion in their movement. The film has little in the way of dialogue (unless you include barking), but it doesn’t need it as the two main characters show a great curiosity about each other and their environment through their actions. I think the L.A. Times put it best when they said: “Lee captures the unfettered joy of discovery and how that feeling changes and expands when you’re no longer alone.”
Enjoy!
