Welcome back to Short Film Friday. It has been several weeks since our last short film so I thought I would reboot us with a really exciting Kickstarter project called White Awake. The project is being brought to us by Alex kyrou, a UK based film maker who’s background includes technical work on several films including Night at the Museum and Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows. He has directed several music videos including the beautiful video for XOVA’s “9 Lives”. It is being produced by Sixty Clicks.

According to their Kickstarter, Alex Kyrou and his Production partner Clare Shields are working to create  a short that utilizes the beautifully evocative look of 16mm film, an incredible rarity in a section of the business that is almost completely filmed digitally. Combined with digital work, the film will approach themes of past vs present through some very cool camera work. The plot revolves around Josh (Hainsley Lloyd Bennett who started in the previously mentioned “9 Lives vide), a successful accountant recounting stories during a therapy session that may contain hidden meaning regarding his own emotional being.
